About Us
Registred on 18 December 1995 to the Charity Commission in England, Shumei UK started its activities in England. We opened the first centre near St. John’s Wood and now move to Swiss Cottage.
We have participated in several Expo events which highlight Alternative Medicine around London and shared our philosophy with people around the world.
In 2005, a partnership was made between Shumei and the Soil Association. We encourage others to respect and live a lifestyle in harmony with nature. Thanks to Yatesbury House farm, we are now practicing our Shumei Natural Agriculture in Wiltshire. The main aim at the farm is to demonstrate the philosophy of Natural Agriculture.
Jyorei Exhibitions and gatherings
We participate in several exhibitions in London, such as ‘Mind Body and Spirit festival’. Shumei stall at these events provides an opportunity to introduce Shumei’s activities and share Jyorei with general public.
Jyorei gatherings are held at the homes of Shumei families and friends each week. By having these
gatherings, we can share our Jyorei experiences with those around us.
Natural agriculture demonstration field
To promote our Natural Agriculture philosophy, we are presently developing two Natural Agriculture projects. Each project aims to promote a culture which uses “Nature” as its guide.
In 2004, one of the members of Shumei community visited a Natural Agriculture farm in Steinfurth, Germany. This experience inspired him to start the natural agriculture garden
in London in October 2004. In the beginning, the plot was totally covered by wild berries having not been used in many years. The next year, it became a beautiful garden full of
a bountiful harvest.
In 2010, another Natural Agriculture project was started in Wiltshire. Many kinds of vegetables are grown and these vegetables convey our message of what it means to respect soil and nature. The vegetable grown are for others to enjoy the great taste and vibrancy of nature.
